Week 26: Home is where the heartburn is…

Baby Bazin is growing so much! And she isweek-26-baby-bump
kicking more than ever. I really think she hears me when I talk to her and I know she responds to certain foods! She also got really quiet during my prenatal massage – as if she was getting massaged as well! The network of nerves in baby bazin’s  ears are better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both my voice and Nick’s as we chat with each other. She’s inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she’s born and takes that first gulp of air. And she’s continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches from head to heel. My belly is so much bigger and she stays pretty low. The belly button is poking out more too and on it’s way to being a full fledged ‘outie’. Time to shop for more tops as my wardrobe options are slowly depleting.

I can also report that I crave milshakes like crazy and chocolate chip cookies are a huge weakness for me right now! I don’t know what it is but a milkshake with any meal is my first option. Then when I don’t get a chance to have one the craving gets worse! Go ahead and sing the ‘milkshake’ song, cuz everyone around here does that knows about my craving. 😉 week-25-kitchen1The heartburn still hasn’t gone away, but milkshakes don’t do it so it’s ok! I get heartburn before and after most meals – Looking forward to that being gone some day soon.

We love our new home – a highlight right now is our beautiful kitchen and thanks to Nick’s handy work with a jig saw the puppies have their own doggie door! Freedom to enter the backyard all they want has been the greatest thing for us!! We no longer have to strap on their leashes every time they need to pee. We’re getting more sleep and have more time in the morning to get things done. It’s a whole new world! Thank you Petsmart!week-25-living-room

Our living room is another room that is taking shape nicely. A few things left to do here and there – we want some nice wall shelves above our TV to place some decor on. Once that’s done along with a curtain for the bare window we’ll be set.
Getting the nursery ready is very exciting and so much fun as well! All those little socks, shoes and clothes we have already gotten are going in her drawers and hanging space in the armoire and it’s all so adorable! Since our upstairs is the master suite we’ll have the nursery upstairs in our room until she’s ready to be in her own room. So no need for us to paint a room right now and coordinate an entire theme. As for the rest of the house – rooms are slowly starting to take shape. There are still boxes everywhere, but every room is livable space now. That’s the most important thing!

We also found out that our friends here in Atlanta (Matt & April and Nathan & Heather) are also having girls! We couldn’t believe that we are all having girls! Play dates are going to be a blast! We’re very fortunate to have such amazing family and friends. Thank you for everyone’s support and encouragement as we take all these new challenges head on back to back – new home and baby. Love to you all!
