Week 34: Can you dig it?

You know how they say time flies by when you’re having fun? With only 6 weeks left we’re trying to have as little fun as possible to give us more time to get as ready as we can be, but we can’t help ourselves. We’ve had alot of people coming by to see the new house and the beautiful baby belly, hosted a game night for Georgia State’s volleyball team and everyday we seem to have another packgage on the porch with some very nice surprises. So, with all this fun and excitement the baby could arrive any day now. 🙂

34-cantaloupeAdita now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which she’ll need to regulate her body temperature once she’s born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well.  She continues to get the hiccups regularly and it’s amazing now to watch Ada’s stomach and see Adita moving!
Adita is so active, she actually got to play some volleyball last week.  Ada was doing her coaching along the sidelines while a practice drill was going on at the net…well, with some surprise but absolutely no injury baby Adita got spiked on but dug it right back to the middle of the net like a champ! Everyone was so shocked they just stood there and gasped at such great athletic skill. I”m sure it won’t be long before the recruiters start calling. week-341

Ada’s been feeling pretty good lately. She gets tired a little faster these days, but definetely has her spouts of energy every once in a while. Sometimes she’ll even start cleaning out of the blue! The doctor says this is perfectly normal behavior so I shouldn’t worry too much. Just don’t let her lift anything heavy or let her stay on her feet too long.
We went to our first prenatal class Monday night held at Piedmont Hospital (where we will deliver). The class was dedicated to the miracle of birth and everything we should expect when the big day comes. It was very informative. But I have to admit, the video freaked us out and at the same time made us a little teary eyed. We realized how emotional this event will be for us and it hit home – we’re gonna be parents!!!

We’re headed down to Florida next weekend, so excited to see everyone again including Nana and Pito! Being with family and close friends at such an important point in our lives is extremely comforting. Thank you to everyone for all your love and encouragement.

With all of you sharing our excitement for Adita’s arrival we can’t help but feel so warm and fuzzy with all the warm fuzzies coming our way.

Love you both very much and sending you our best wishes and prayers, Tatiana
